Getting to the Bottom of it: Can you Snore and Dream at the Same Time?

The fact that you cannot snore and dream is a well circulated fact about sleeping on the internet. However, there are also a large amount of skeptics that are die hard believers that you can snore and dream at the same time. They provide some extremely valid points, too. However, both sides are at a disadvantage. There is no official source that states whether you can or cannot snore and dream at the same time.

If there is a source, it is buried deep in some dusty medical journal in some library somewhere. The study has probably been done at some point, but the conclusive results have never made it to the internet. Modern scientists and researchers ignore the subject, most likely because they have better things to do. I mean, what is answering one random non-life threatening question versus finding a cure for things like sleep apnea or waking paralysis?

So, while I cannot give you a definitive answer, I will at least give you two very valid trains of thought on the subject so you can pick your side in this age old debate.

Skeptics Theory
The skeptics believe that snoring and dreaming are two separate entities.

Snoring happens when the muscles of the mouth and throat relax. This relaxation causes the soft palate of throat to sag in relaxation. Since we still intake air, the air passing through the airway causes the narrowed airway to vibrate. This is how the sound of snoring is made.[2] The narrower your airway, the louder your snoring is. This can be a sign of sleep apnea, however. So if you are disturbing others when you sleep because of your snoring, you may want to consult a doctor.

Dreaming is a response from the brain. There is no one part of the brain that contributes to dreams, it is a team effort on that front. While you can dream all through the night, the sleep stage where most dreams occur is in REM sleep. This sleep stage is courtesy of the electrochemical pulses of the caused by the brain stem. Surprisingly, up until 2004, scientists did not know what part of the brain was responsible for the imagery and scenery in dreams.  In 2004, when a stroke victims lost her dreams due to brain damage, two Swiss doctors theorized that the imagery comes from a dense area of gray matter in the back of the brain.[1]

This is essentially why skeptics believe dreams and snoring to be unrelated. One is a reaction to the bodies relaxation and need to breath, the other is some random electrochemical waves firing around in the brain.

Why We Cannot Snore and Dream at the Same Time
The theory for why we cannot snore and dream at the same time has a lot to do with the bodies reaction to REM sleep. In the first stages of sleep, the body relaxes, breathing slows, and heart rate slows. The relaxation of the body, as mentioned previously, leads to snoring. However, when you enter REM sleep you heart rate increases, but you breathing becomes even shallower. [3]Snoring is a result of air passing through the airway and causing vibration and sound. The more air you try to intake, the more intense the vibrations become, thus the louder snoring becomes. So in theory, with your breathing becoming more shallow, the less air your body is taking it. So as a result, it should not cause snoring.

This, I believe, is the basis for why people believe you cannot snore and dream at the same time. This theory suggests that you are less likely to snore while dreaming and not that you cannot snore while dreaming.

However, as I mentioned earlier, there is still no conclusive results on the subject. I have read extensively on both the topics of snoring and dreaming to no avail. Though if you readers out there know of a scientific study that proves it, I would love to hear about it!

So now that you have heard both sides of the story, which do you believe?

Choosing jeans according to your figure type

jeans are the most versatile garments.

Both women and men like wearing them. They are appropriate for a visit to a local grocery as well as a posh party or red carpet occasion. The most interesting thing about jeans is that they were first made for men to wear to work and much later ladies adopted them for their wardrobes. Nowadays there are plenty of fashion models created especially for women.
They are nice, durable and comfortable. And what is the most pleasant about them is that jeans are now made for all women figure types. I wrote this post to explain how jeans should be selected to suit your particular figure well.
Jeans for tall women
Tall women should pay attention to long or extra long jeans of light hues. Low rise is the best. Jeans may be flared, straight, rolled up, relaxed fit or boot-cut.

Steer clear of short jeans, cigarette style jeans and the ones that are narrowed to the bottom. When purchasing jeans search for pairs with ‘For tall women’ or ‘Extra long’ labels. You may also want to buy a pair with hemline that needs to be shaped so that you completed them according to your own choice.
Jeans for petite women
Tight-fitting stretch and extra long jeans narrowed to bottom, as well as pairs with rolled up legs should be avoided as they make your figure look shorter.

Forget about light hues, they are not for you. Whist boot-cut jeans of dark tones look well. Straight cigarette jeans with high-heeled shoes of the same color will add extra length to your legs. Too relaxed models will make you look too thin and very close-fitting jeans will attract much attention to your height.
Jeans for women with narrow hips and flat buttocks
The best choice for you is light flared jeans with high or low rise (if you have a nice waist).

Such models will draw the focus away from your hips and buttocks accentuating the ankles and feet and add volume to create a more curved and feminine figure.
Jeans for women with indistinct waist
Women with indistinct waist have to buy jeans of a bigger size as the ones which suit them perfectly squeeze their waist too much.
My advice for you is to choose the size you usually buy and fit them to your shape. The only thing to mention here is that jeans must be straight and tight, this will make your midriff visually smaller and more proportionate to your hips. Besides, you may select men’s jeans and probably find the model that fits you best.
Jeans for women with wide hips
Back pockets must be rather big and cover as much of your buttocks as it is possible. In case the pockets are small or the space between them is too large your hips will look even wider. Good models for you are: pairs with low rise or relaxed fit jeans of dark tints made from thick coarse denim with straight wide legs parting right from the hips.

Keep in mind that too tight-fitting stretch jeans of light colors, narrowed to the bottom, with high and narrow midriff make the woman look fatter. Hips will look wider and lower than they actually are.
Jeans for plump women
Pay attention to the fabric. Soft thin denim fits well and provides good shape. As a rule plump women choose to wear too relaxed fit jeans which are too big for them and bristle much.

This isn’t right as too wide jeans or pants make women look fatter. Prefer dark-colored jeans narrowed to the bottom. They shouldn’t be too narrow or too tight. And don’t forget that elastic midriff is the best for you, it provides comfort and nice look.
And remember one universal rule: high rise makes your legs look longer while the low rise shortens them.
All these tips are good recommendations but they are anyway too generalized and sometimes can lose its significance due to the fact your shape is unique as well as your character is. So, keeping the advice given in mind try on all the jeans you want to buy and then decide whether our advice works for you or not.

Women have larger pupils than men

Women have a wider pupil diameter than men. Although larger pupils are considered to be more attractive by men, there is no direct evidence to suggest that this is why women have larger pupils. It’s worth to mention that over 500 years ago, women in Italy used plant extracts to dilate their pupils because they believed it would increase their attractiveness.

Two faced cat

In August, Venus the two-faced cat became a feline hit: The three-year-old tortoiseshell debuted her own Facebook page, was featured in a YouTube video, and appeared on the Today Show. One look at this cat and you can understand why: One half is solid black with a green eye, and the other half has typical orange tabby stripes and a blue eye. The coloration may be a genetic mashup that one scientist called “absolute luck.

Eye Make Up

The Superheroes have always been an inspiration for us. Of late, the superhero movies and characters are getting associated to style. First it was the OPI nail polish brand that made nail paints inspired from Spiderman and following the likes of this trend, a 26-year-old Finnish makeup artist Jangsara has created eye makeup style inspired from the new movie ‘Avengers.’ Now ladies you can choose your favorite eye makeup that you can pull off for the premiere of the movie. Take a look at the various eye make ups and get inspired.
If Chris Evans was not enough to make Captain America glitzy and glammy, then this eye makeup inspired by the movie can definitely do that. It has the color of the flag, stars and all the colors that made Captain America.

The sheer thing that it’s inspired from Iron Man makes us believe that. The Loki eye makeup is simply stunning and a bit different from the others.

The Thor eye makeup’s main inspiration is from the costumes and steel plates.

How to Make Decorative Fresh Fruit Platters

Decorative platters, which tempt hungry guests with fresh fruits, make an excellent addition to the party table. This healthy and refreshing snack attracts both adults and children, who enjoy tasting colorful morsels. While an attractive platter is easy to arrange, some hosts are unsure, how to prepare one for a family get together, or a party.
In this article, you will discover, how to select and prepare fruits, place juicy elements in a visually pleasing way, store and serve a completed plate. Impress your family and friends with stylish and yummy fresh fruit platters during the next family get together or party!

How to Select Best Fruits for Party Platter

A bulk of ingredients should come from local sources, as such fruits are most fresh and healthy. The person, who is responsible for collecting party supplies, should check out a local bazaar and farmer's market for ripe, seasonal produce. A visit in a supermarket will yield those more exotic, but attractive and colorful products.

There are infinite ways to compose this dish. Therefore, instead of aiming for specific produce, try to check available stuff and buy any cheap and fresh fruits. Aim for the best looking and most colorful ones with consistent pigmentation and no blemishes.
When it comes to those exotic snacks, a few types of fruit are particularly suitable for creative party platter arrangements, due to their decorative shapes and unique qualities.
  • A pineapple acts as an eye-catching centerpiece on a large tray. Its pieces enhance the visual design, as they form patterns on a serving tray. Besides, guests expect to see a pineapple in this type of arrangement. It's decorative enough to justify an acquisition of a can with pineapple slices.
  • A kiwi fruit improves an arrangement, thanks to its intense green color, a contrasting motive of tiny, black seeds and a unique, tart taste. One can't go wrong with a strategic placement of a few slices of a Chinese gooseberry on a serving platter.
  • A peach indulges party guests, thanks to its juicy and sweet contents. Pieces of peach on a fruit platter should be small enough for consumption in a one mouthful, so as to avoid staining eaters with its sticky juices.
  • Strawberries create an impression of luxury and refinement, flawlessly matching champagne or white wine, which is present on a party table. Place a few strawberries in a geometric pattern to take advantage of their elegant shape and vivid, red color.
  • A watermelon refreshes visitors, thanks to its high water content. This fruit is an essential ingredient on the table during any summer family get togethers and parties, which are hosted outdoors.

How to Prepare Ingredients for Fruit Platters

After cleaning your hands, wash purchased fruits thoroughly under a stream of running water, while gently brushing them, to rinse off any sand and remove germs, pesticides and other chemicals. Never use strong chemicals, which are designed for other cleaning purposes, as those can be toxic.
Folks, who want to specifically disinfect the produce, can soak them in a warm water mixed with a tablespoon of an apple cider vinegar for 15 minutes, before giving them a proper wash.
Occasionally, producers cover their crops with special wax, to keep them edible for a long time. While this covering is harmless, bacterial agents, dirt and chemicals often get stuck to it. Therefore, most consumers prefer to remove the wax, unless they intend to peel covered fruits. To remove the protective layer, try a vinegar bath described above, or scrub items, after applying a bit of baking soda.
It's best to peel and cut fruits shortly before serving them, so that exposed surfaces don't oxidate, losing their nutritional value and changing color for worse in the process. However, busy hosts often need to prepare some dishes in advance, instead of leaving all preparation for the last moment. In such circumstances, cook can use a few tricks to keep the slices fresh.
  • Apply lemon juice to exposed surfaces of fruit pieces. A citric acid, which is present in drops of juice, inhibits an oxidation, therefore keeping these slices fresh.
  • Place sensitive food parts in a bowl of cold water, which covers them completely, because nutrients can't oxidize underwater, due to the lack of an air. However, avoid using this trick on juicy fruit, to protect them from "bleeding out".
  • Cover a finished fruit platter, or an assortment of chunks and slices, with a sheet of plastic foil, which sticks closely to the food and its tray. Make sure to attach it well, to isolate the dish from a fresh air.
Whether you apply any more tricks or not, keep in mind, that both ingredients and prepared platters must be stored in a fridge, until it's time to serve them on a party table. This keeps them fresh and protects sweet morsels from insects. Besides, cool fruits taste better and seem more refreshing.
  • How to Arrange Fruit Platters With Style

Any host would like to make creative fruit party platters, which would delight and satisfy their guests. Depending on the choice of fruits, and the time available for playing with the composition, one can try different types of creative arrangements. Let's have a look at few different fruit platter ideas, and find out, how to prepare them.
A whole fruit platter seems easiest to prepare, as the cook avoids all the slicing, preparation and storage issues. However, this design requires an artistic skill, as its success depends on a clever use of color, space and shape of composition elements.
Art admirers may find inspiration in classic still-life paintings, going as far, as attempting to imitate the specific creative depiction with live fruits!
This type of fruit platter arrangement turns out best with a strong centerpiece, such as a pineapple, or a vertical element of the tray, surrounded by various berries and fruits, placed around in non-symmetrical fashion. Large fruits with clusters of currants and grapes fit this still-life design, adding the sense of movement. A few leaves or flowers, placed strategically in the composition, complete an artistic delicacy.
A divided fruit platter arrangement consists of colorful slices and chunks of assorted produce.
This type of design looks best with elements, which encircle a small centerpiece in concentric rings of  a single type of material and shape. Here, a symmetrical placement of items improves the result.
A designer should keep basic rules of the color matching and composition in mind, while placing chunks of different materials next to each other. When in doubt, try to mix contrasting colors for a strong, creative party tray arrangement. Folks, who need an inspiration, can attempt to model a fruit display after their favorite type of pizza Laughing
A chunk mix fruit platter contains small pieces, cut haphazardly and mingled together. This type of a decorative party plate requires no design skills.
It's easy to guess, that it was inspired by a common salad. However, there's a one major difference between our platter and a bowl of salad: the chunk mix is missing any sauce.
To achieve the best effect with this fruit tray idea, offer it with a few bowls of sauce, which are served separately. Any syrup, yoghurt, liquid chocolate, or vanilla sauce compliment a fruit platter well. Each guest can fill his empty bowl with a portion of the mix and add his favourite sauce, or combine a few fillers together. This arrangement is perfect for a smorgasbord party.
A host may bring out elaborate fruit platters from the kitchen just before the consumption. However, when served on crushed ice and covered with a transparent dome or plastic foil, fruits can decorate tables for hours, as they stay cool and tasty. Try this during a summer party, when guests especially love chilly, juicy snacks.

Kissing History

Pucking Up Through The Ages
Kissing: the intimate act used to express feelings o  f love, passion, affection, respect, friendship, greetings and many more. A kiss can vary widely in different cultures, for example, a kiss can be used in formal greetings, or ritual and traditional formalities, or for religious reasons, as well as being used as an intimate expression of love. But where did kissing come from? How has the act evolved over time?

Kissing Through History

Ancient Indian Kissing
The earliest evidence of kissing came from Indian Vedic Sanskrit texts that date back to around 1500 BC. In these texts there are descriptions of people kissing. However, while the texts don’t mention the word ‘kiss’, there are references to ‘licking’ and ‘drinking moisture of the lips’, which historians believe refers to the act of intimate kissing. There is also an epic Indian poem called ‘Mahabharata’ that describes the act of kissing on the lips as a sign of affection. The ‘Mahabharata’ was originally passed down orally for several hundred years, before being written down and recorded properly around 350 AD. It was also around this point in time when the Vatsyayana Kamasutra (better known as the Kama Sutra) was established. Considered to be the standard work on human sexual behaviors, the Karma Sutra included an entire section on the different ways of lavishing kisses on a lover.

Roman Empire Kissing
Kissing doesn’t really surface in the Western world until the days of the Roman Empire, where Romans would use kisses to greet family and friends, as well as express feelings of love, and to pay their respects to ruler’s by kissing their hand. The Romans had three differentcategories for kissing, ‘Osculum’ was a kiss on the cheek, ‘Basium’ was a kiss on the lips, and ‘Savolium’ was a deep kiss. The Romans are responsible for beginning out modern day traditions when it comes to kissing. In ancient Rome, a couple became betrothed by kissing passionately on the lips in front of a group of people. The term ‘sealed with a kiss’ also comes from ancient Rome, where were used like handshakes to seal legal and business agreements and even during political campaigns.
Religious Kissing History
In the early Christian Church, Christians would use kissing as a way to greet one another. This greeting, known as an ‘Osculum Pacis’, or holy kiss, was believed to transfer the spirit between the two people. It was also used to establish family bond between the members of the church and to strengthen the community, as well as separating Christians and non-Christians.
Kissing in the Middle Ages
In the Middle Ages, kissing was a demonstration of a person’s social standing.  Subjects of a King would kiss his ring, robe, hands or even the ground beneath his feet to show respect. This kind of respect was also shown toward the Pope. A kiss was also used as a greeting between feudal lords and vassals as a show of trust. It was also during this time that many men did not know how to read and write, so a kiss was used as a legal way to seal contracts, as it had been done in ancient Rome. An ‘X’ would be drawn on the line and kissed, making it legal. This symbol of a kiss has been carried over into modern day, with ‘X’ being written to represent a kiss.
Kissing Today
During the Industrial Revolution, the kiss became replaced by the handshake as a form of agreement between to people when it came to legal and business matters. By 1872, Charles Darwin had theorized that due to the global diversity and popularity of kissing, humans must possess an innate desire to want to connect with others in this way. Darwin surmised that kissing is rooted deep within our evolutionary past, but is influenced by our social-cultural traditions, rules and customs.
The term “French kiss” came into the English language around 1923 as an insult towards the French culture which was thought to be overly concerned with sex. In France, it’s called a tongue kiss or soul kiss because if done right, it feels as if two souls are merging.
Kissing occurs in most cultures around the world today, but there are many different views on what is appropriate when it comes to displays of affection. In Middle Eastern countries public displays of affection, including holding hands, cuddling and kissing can be punishable by law. In some Asian countries, while not illegal, kissing is considered a private activity, and PDA is frowned upon.
Kissing Conclusion
Scientists, scholars and anthropologists are divided over whether kissing is a learned or instinctual behaviour. There are also many theories behind where kissing evolved from, including when mothers orally passed chewed food to their infants during the weaning period, or that kissing evolved from prospective mates sniffing each other’s pheromones to check for biological compatibility. Another theory suggests it was used to judge a person as a potential mate. Whatever the reason for the development of kissing, it has come through history as a symbol and expression of human feelings.

Investing in the Stock Markets

Firstly, what are unit trusts (UK) and mutual funds (US)? Well, each is a collective investment[1] - they are very similar in setup - which buys shares in companies, and then the individual investor buys shares in the unit trust or mutual fund. This allows an individual without a large amount of starting capital to invest in a greater number of shares than would otherwise be the case, spreading the risk.

The Problems With Them

One fundamental problem with them is that very few actually beat the market - namely, increase in value more than the market does - and even those that do rarely do it on a regular basis; those that do well this year are likely to do poorly next year. Individual investors also rarely beat the market and those investors that do, such as Warren Buffet, are justifiably famous. Out of thousands of mutual funds and unit trusts available to buy, only a couple of dozen may actually beat the market in any particular year.
Unit trusts and mutual funds have regular fees involved, which also come off the potential gains of the investment. These fees are the transaction costs that arise from buying and selling shares inside the trust or fund, as well as the professional fees paid to the people who actually manage the investment and choose which shares to actually buy and sell and when to do it. Given the inability most have to beat the market, this essentially mean that the investor is paying fees to professional managers just so they can underperform what the market does anyway, hardly an ideal situation.

How to Fix This

One way around this is to invest in index or tracker funds. All stock markets have a number of indices, such as the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 in the US and the "Footsie" or FT-SE 100 in the UK. There are many more in these markets alone, without even considering other countries. The FT-SE 100 for example consists of the 100 largest companies listed on the London Stock Exchange.
What index or tracker funds do is invest their money in all of the shares listed in that index (or sometimes a proportional representation of them) so a Footsie tracker would buy shares in all the 100 companies listed in the Footsie. The tracker fund will then do as well as the index being tracked does. This is essentially saying that the managers can't actually beat the market when doing their jobs but, as this is by and large true, it should be accepted. The trackers may not precisely mirror the performance of the index being tracked (this is known as the tracking error[2]) but it should be close enough.

With the index funds only investing in the shares in the index, management fees are less - the managers aren't doing any trading, so aren't being paid to decide what to buy and sell - and internal fees such as those generated by buying and selling shares are also less. These funds are very conservative, don't even try to beat the market and yet will still outperform most actively managed funds which, in the long run, means more money for the individual investor. Management fees or often one or two percent lower per year than those in an actively managed fund. This may not sound like a lot, but over a couple of decades an extra percent a year can make a large difference.

Choosing Your Funds

When choosing a fund to invest in, various factors should also be checked. The tracking error, as mentioned earlier, it should be as low as possible. It's unlikely to be positive, but try to keep the negative side down. Any management fees should also be checked - again, these want to be as low as possible. These also need to be checked over the longest period possible; a fund that has an average of 0.3% fees over 20 years is going to be better than one with a 0.1% fee for this year, but 0.4% per year afterwards. Ideally, the selected fund should have both a low tracking error and low fees. Which index to be tracked should also be considered; one such as the Footsie which only invests in the biggest companies will be more conservative, but less likely to see massive gains, whilst others may have greater potential gains, but greater potential risk.

An investor could get the same benefit by simply buying all the shares in the index themselves; however an investment in each of the shares in the index you want to track requires a much greater investment than investing in the unit trust or mutual fund - this is, after all, a primary benefit of these funds - the ability to invest in a wide range of shares without requiring a huge amount of capital. Any investments in a company below £1,000 or $1,000 will lose a much greater proportion of the investment in transaction fees. Investing in the dozens or, in some cases, hundreds of stocks in an index would require a cash lump sum in the tens or hundreds of thousands, which is beyond the capability of most smaller investors.

When Should You Invest?

Many unit trusts and mutual funds will allow the investor to invest on a regular basis if you don't have a lump sum. This way and amount that is far too small for normally investing in any share, say £25 per month, can still be used to start building up an investment portfolio. The ideal time to start this type of investing is now - delaying only reduces the long term gains possible. Don't wait for the market to fall to be a bargain; that isn't how a regular monthly investment works.
What an investor needs to do is to invest every month, keep investing every month and don't stop investing or reduce the amount being invested. Missing the odd investment over the years won't make a big difference; a permanent reduction in the amount being invested can dramatically reduce the value of the investment at the end. With a regular investment of this type, you don't pay any attention to what the market is doing but just keep making your payments no matter whether it goes up or down. This is very definitely a long term investment and not a get rich quick scheme, so it needs starting without delay. Investors in the UK can invest in tracker funds using a stocks and shares ISA (Individual Savings Account) which is a tax efficient means of investing money which will therefore increase the long term growth of the investment.

Diversification

In themselves, tracker funds are already quite diversified. Your investment is spread across many different shares, so that level of diversification is built into the investment. There are other ways of diversifying though. Each stock exchange, as mentioned, has different indices. You can diversify by investing in trackers that follow these different indices however a decent tracker should already have a sufficient level of diversification in its market unless you are looking to invest in specific sectors or types of shares. The other main way of diversifying is by investing in an index tracker in another country; if you are invested in the UK's All Share index you could then look to investing in a US index such as the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Investing overseas can be more expensive and require a larger investment though. In addition there can be more risk in investing in other exchanges if the markets of those countries aren't very efficient.

The Health Benefits Of Chocolate

Everyone knows too much chocolate is bad for you, but not everyone knows that just a little bit of chocolate has good health benefits. However, not all chocolates are equal. Dark chocolate or cacao beans give the best health benefits where milk chocolate has less. Milk chocolate is chocolate combined with milk and sometimes things like sugar and vanilla to create a sweeter and creamier sort of taste. This makes it less pure than dark chocolate and also fattier thus worse for you.

Eat Chocolate for a Better Metabolism

Shocked that chocolate can help improve metabolism? A 2009 study published in the Journal of Proteome Research showed a comparison of the metabolism of people who ate 40 grams of dark chocolate over two weeks compared to those that did not. They found that there was a considerable metabolism increase in those that ate this tasty dessert treat. They believe that chocolate helps drop the levels of stress-related hormones that slow the metabolism and decrease fat burning.Related to this, it is found to help people feel fuller. This is why many campers and hikers carry a bar of chocolate. It is good to give you a fast energy boost, but if you should happen to become lost, it will help stave off hunger pangs. This is because dark chocolate is actually rich in fiber which helps fill the stomach. When dieting, try taking a bite of dark chocolate next time before over snacking.

Chocolate is Good for Your Skin

Anyone that has ever had an acne problem know that chocolate is responsible for breakouts. This may be true for milk chocolate, but the dark variety is actually good for your skin. Dark chocolate is rich in an antioxidant called flavanols. Flavanols help protect your skin from UV light damage. Thus helping prevent skin cancer. However, eating this sweet treat does not mean you can throw away your sunscreen.

Chocolate Can Help Coughs

Chocolate being used for coughs is kind of odd, however I know personally that it does work. This tasty treat contains an alkaloid called theobromine, which is a stimulant similar to caffeine. Theobromine is also what makes chocolate poisonous to dogs, but it metabolizes slowly in dogs, but humans have a very high tolerance for it.
This alkaloid helps the calm the vagus nerve in the brain which trigger coughing. Because of this, companies are investigating replacing codeine—which can have adverse side effects—with theobromine in cough syrups as a more natural remedy.

Chocolate is Good for the Heart

Theobromine is not only good for coughs, but it is good for your heart in small doses. Like other stimulants, it increases heart rate, and widens blood vessels. Research also suggests that chocolate has chemical properties that inhibits platelet function in the blood making it a blood thinner. This would be dangerous in large doses, but unless you plan on eating a whole car made out of the stuff, it helps lower blood pressure and clotting. Because it acts as an anti-clotting blood thinner, it can help prevent strokes. A 2011 Swedish study found that those who ate around 40 grams of chocolate per week had their chances of a stroke lowered by at least 25%. It has also been noted that the flavanols in this sweet treat can help repair blood vessel damage caused by smoking. So after quiting, help your body repair itself with a little bit of sweetness.

Fight Depression with Chocolate

Why do people reach for chocolate after a break up or when they are sad? Because it helps. It really helps. It helps stimulate endorphin production which is what makes us feel good. I have heard that having a piece of chocolate melt in your mouth makes a person as happy as passionate kissing, though this is unconfirmed. However, there is no denying the feeling you get when eating chocolate. You have to be really determined to be depressed when eating chocolate to negate the effects. This is why people are skeptical of the fact that chocolate makes people happy chemically. when you really do not want something to work, it will not. Though consequently, when you want it to work, it probably will.

Health Disadvantages of Chocolate

You cannot mention the health benefits of chocolate without mention the disadvantages. If you only mention the good, people will indulge themselves more than they should.
While dark chocolate is the best kind to eat to get the health benefits, all chocolate—white, dark, milk, ect—has a fairly high fat content. 3 ounces of this stuff contains anywhere from 21 to 41 grams of fat in it and 300 to 450 calories. While you can eat an ounce of this stuff to get the health benefits and be alright with calories and fat content, people have a hard time containing themselves. This food has always been one of those food that people cannot help but overindulge themselves. This throws the health benefits out the window and leads to weight gain and all the negatives that come with that.
Like with fat content, chocolate also contains a high sugar content. Though dark chocolate has the lowest sugar content, eating 2 ounces of it will put you over the recommended sugar intake you should have daily. Like fat content, this can lead to weight gain, but also increases tooth decay. You know what they say, sugar rots your teeth. That old adage continues to be true. Though interestingly enough, theobromine is believed to help kill some bacteria in the mouth that causes tooth decay. Eating too many sweet treats cancels out the effect with sugar.
Chocolate naturally contains caffeine as well. A surprisingly large amount of natural caffeine is found in this sweet. Because the dark variety is the purest, it has the highest amount of caffeine with 30 mg per a 1.45 ounce serving. The recommended daily caffeine consumption is only 45 mgs so a 1.45 ounce of dark chocolate puts you really close to that limit. Exceeding this limit can lead to head aches, sleep problems, and anxiety. The caffeine content is not something people consider when eating this sweet treat but they should before they overindulge.

HOW YOU CAN TO MAKE A BOW OUT OF YOUR HAIR

HOW YOU CAN TO MAKE A BOW OUT OF YOUR HAIR

BRUSH TO REMOVE ANY TANGLES OR SNAGS. FOR A CLEAN, SMOOTH BOW YOU’LL WANT TO MAKE SURE YOUR HAIR IS READY FOR STYLING.

PULL YOUR HAIR BACK INTO A PONYTAIL. INSTEAD OF PULLING THE PONYTAIL ALL THE WAY THROUGH, CREATE A LOOP USING ABOUT HALF TO THREE QUARTERS OF THE HAIR IN THE PONYTAIL, LEAVING A LONG LOOSE END. TUCK THE LOOSE END INTO THE ELASTIC TO KEEP THE LOOP IN PLACE. (THIS LOOSE END BECOMES THE CENTERPIECE OF THE BOW.) YOU SHOULD BE LEFT WITH WHAT RESEMBLES A LOOSE BUN WITH THE HAIR ENDS SECURELY FASTENED UNDERNEATH THE HAIR TIE.
ADJUST THE HAIR TIE IF NEEDED. IF YOU DIDN’T GET A GOOD GRIP ON THE HAIR ENDS, YOUR BOW MAY FALL FLAT. MAKE SURE THAT BOTH YOUR PONYTAIL AND ITS ENDS ARE VERY SECURE IN THE HAIR TIE. THIS MAY TAKE A FEW PASSES UNTIL YOU GET A FEEL OF HOW TIGHTLY YOU CAN WIND THE HAIR TIE.

DIVIDE THE LOOPED HAIR. SECTION OFF YOUR HAIR INTO TWO EVENLY DISTRIBUTED SECTIONS (THESE WILL FORM THE SIDES OF THE BOW). USE THE MIRROR TO GUIDE THE DIVISION AND TO HELP YOU KEEP IT EVEN.

CREATE THE MIDDLE PIECE OF THE BOW. TAKE THE LOOSE STRAND OF HAIR IN FRONT OF THE BOW AND PULL IT BACK OVER AND THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF YOUR BOW SECTIONS. THEN:

TUCK THE STRANDS OF HAIR SECURELY INTO THE HAIR TIE. YOU MAY NEED TO USE A LITTLE HAIRSPRAY TO KEEP THE HAIR IN PLACE BUT TRY TO STUFF AS MUCH OF THE TOP STRAND INTO THE HAIR TIE AS POSSIBLE.
SECURE THE STRAND WITH BOBBY PINS. PUSH AT LEAST THREE OR FOUR PINS INTO THE STRAND AND INTO THE HAIR TIE TO CONNECT THE ENTIRE PIECE.FLUFF OUT THE BOW. USE A TEASING COMB OR YOUR FINGERS TO FLUFF THE HAIR. THIS IS WHERE YOU SHAPE AND CREATE THE ACTUAL BOW. IF YOUR HAIR DOESN’T HOLD THE BOW SHAPE ON ITS OWN, HOLD ONE SECTION OUT AND SPRAY WITH EXTRA-HOLD HAIRSPRAY. DO THE SAME WITH THE OTHER SECTION.

How we can clean stain which is made Cigarette

Smoking aside from running rampant with your health also stains everything. Nicotine itself is an lf is an oily liquid that seeps into our skin in its purest form. When it is released in cigarette smoke, nicotine is released with tar from the tobacco. The tar combined with the nicotine in cigarette smoke will stain finger, teeth, walls, and any other porous surface. These stains are not noticed immediately, but one day every smoker wakes up and notices their index and middle finger of their smoking hand have yellowed at the tip.
Other than the obvious way to prevent these stains, which is to stop smoking, smokers can help prevent them by washing their hands as much as possible. however, once the stains set in they only get harder to get rid of.There are a lot of different products that boast the ability to remove stains from skin. They use harsh chemicals that dry your skin and crack your nails don't always leave you with the desired stain-free amount of skin.

Potato
As weird as it may seem, cut a potato in half and rub it on the stained areas of your skin. Potatoes are a strange little vegetable. Since they contain large amounts of water, they can soak up many. They can get excess salt out of food and rubbing the juice on your skin and letting it set for 30 minutes can draw out stains. As the potato juice evaporates, it brings the nicotine stain out with it.
Lemon
Similar to a potato, lemon juice can also be used to remove stains naturally. Rub the lemon on the stains and let sit for about 10 minutes. The lemon juice penetrates deeply and draws out the tar stains, however like many chemical produces it does not over dry the skin.
Aspirin
Dissolve a caplet of aspirin into a cup of hot water and soak your fingers in for about 15 minutes and it should help to lift the stain. one of aspirin's main ingredients, salicylic acid, helps lift the stain from your skin naturally. This method can also be done by creating a paste from aspirin and water for tougher stains. Aspirin solution will also help remove tobacco stains from clothing and walls.
Pumice Stone
For the tougher stains from years and years of smoking and ignoring the tar stains, you can gently massage the affected areas before and are with a pumice stone to scrub the stains from the skin. If you have to use the pumice stone after, I recommend repeating whichever treatment you were using for better results. Some have tried to remove stains by just scrubbing them off with a pumice stone, however this will leave your skin sore if done too vigorously and can result in calluses. Though the pumice stone will be useful if you, like me, had tobacco stains in already formed calluses.
Bleach
People treat bleach like it is sulfuric acid. If bleach accidentally gets on your skin, it is not going to burn your to the bone straight away. Bleach is a helpful tool in removing tobacco stains from fingers. Undiluted pure bleach will cause chemical burns, so it is best to liberally dilute it before soaking your fingers. Add a capful of bleach to approximately two cups of water and let your fingers soak for five minutes.
Be sure to wash hands thoroughly after soaking to remove any excess bleach and bleach smell. Using bleach is one method that can dry your hands out, so If that is something that will bother you, but sure to apply lotion.

Treating Nicotine Stains on Teeth
Removing nicotine stains from teeth is a lot like removing any other discolorations that life presents your teeth. The best advice to keeping a white smile while still smoking it to smoke before brushing your teeth and try to wait at least an hour after brushing. If you brush your teeth daily, nicotine stains should keep themselves at bay.
Overnight products
Many heavy smokers are absolutely manic about smoking. They'll smoke before brushing their teeth and immediately after. Doing this really makes brushing your teeth to keep them white a moot point. To combat this, invest in an overnight whitening product. This will help counteract heavy smoking as you cannot smoke while you are sleeping.
Baking Soda and Peroxide
If you find yourself needing to do some spot treatment on some stains, baking soda and peroxide is the poor man's stain remover. A lot of stain removing products are essentially just baking soda and peroxide, so why spend the extra money? Mix the two together to form a thick paste and brush it on the stained areas of the teeth. You can also use this mixture to replace your usual toothpaste. You will not get that minty breath, but it will strongly help remove the stains on your teeth each day and keep new ones from forming.
I do have a warning for this method though, many people's mouths are excessively sensitive to peroxide so if the mixture burns, you will have to try another method. Once in awhile is alright if it burns your mouth, but daily use will be excruciating.
Oral Hygiene
Like I previously said, what it all comes down to is good oral hygiene to treat and prevent tobacco stains on teeth. If tobacco has already taken its toll and you want to change it, today is a good day to start. use a whitening toothpaste daily and it will help fight stain build up. This also encompasses yearly visits to the dentist for teeth cleaning. If you are a smoker or have recently quit and want to get your smile whiter, start with a solid teeth cleaning at the dentist. That should help treat some of the deeper stains.
After the initial teeth cleaning, brush and even floss daily and use a whitening product, be it whitening strips or the baking soda and peroxide mixture, one a week at least. I found that after a about two months, my nicotine stains were gone and my teeth were whiter than they were when I was a child.

Sailing Stones

Will a regular stone at your feet intrigue you? Will you be curious to read about a stone? I would not, unless the stone has some mysterious properties or origins (read outer space or earth inner crust).

Sailing stones are rocks found in the dry mud lake at Racetrack Player in Death Valley National Park, California, which leaves a trail of their movement. There is nothing special about the stones except for the fact that they are moving and leave a trail on the mud. “How do they sail?” – This is the question which puzzles the scientists for four decades.

In 1915, when this phenomenon was first documented, most thought that to be a prank by some locals or park officials. But, later geologists observed and confirmed that this geological phenomenon has no human or animal interference. An article has been published on 1948 in Geological Society of America Bulletin about the sliding rocks/moving rocks (known by these names also) phenomenon.

How does those stones sail? The theories and rumors started feeding the frenzy. All kinds of theories have sprung up right from the supernatural properties of the stones to mysterious spirits moving them to alien intervention.
Extensive experiments were conducted and major progress has been done in 70s. A set of rocks has been identified and given names like Mary Ann, Nancy and Karen and then studied each year. The rock “Karen” has disappeared around 1994 (maybe due to severe winters in 1992 and 1993). It (Karen) has been rediscovered in 1996 by a geologist around 800 meters from its previously observed location.
The most logical amongst the theories after the studies were conducted is – “Stronger Winds or moving ice sheets sail the rocks”. But, the observation/experiments for around a century have shown that rocks as heavier as 700 pounds have been moved for more than 600 feet. The wind speed calculated to sail those kinds of rocks (700 pounds) should be of far greater in magnitude than is observed at the Racetrack Player lake bed. Please take a look at the following pictures for an idea of size of sailing stones.
Also, the tracks are not always linear. The tracks take a perpendicular turn in some scenarios. Not all rocks have sailed the same distance. Some of them sailed in completely different directions. (See image below)
Lots of theories have been proposed and lots of experiments were conducted to find the cause of SAILing stones. None has given a satisfactory explanation except for a recent one, which is believed now, unanimously, to be the actual cause of the SAILing stones.
Professor Ralph Lorenz, a planetary geologist at NASA, has proposed that the stones were frozen with ice around them during the colder months and the bottom tip/edge of the stone which would be submerged in icy water for a couple of inches would be prone to soft winds. Once the stone is covered with ice in the muddy soil, it does not totally submerged or totally float. The top portion will float while the bottom which is not fully ice-covered will be touching the soil up to a couple of inches. This greatly reduces the friction between the rocks and the mud surface. With reduced friction and light winds, these stones easily sail leaving their marks on the soil/mud beneath them. Once the frozen areas melt down, those marks left by stone tip were visible to the naked eye and thus the stone has sailed.
The theory by Prof. Ralph Lorenz is also just another theory, until someone proves with a video footage proving or disproving it. But, this theory is the most convincing now since Prof. Ralph Lorenz has tested the theory domestically in his kitchen sink with frozen solid and some ice cold water and the theory holds good in domestic testing in his kitchen table.
You can argue about placing a video camera in the Racetrack Player and record everything and find out the truth. In 2009, an inexpensive time lapse digital camera has been installed and pointed at the Racetrack Playa. But, this phenomenon occurs once in three or four years and should last only tens of seconds, which makes it extremely hard to be captured on a digital camera. In 2013, wind-triggered imagery is being used to greatly reduce the amount of captured digital media and the amount of work one should process post recording them.
In the meantime, the Death Valley National Park officials at Racetrack Player have initiated investigations into the disappearance of a large number of stones from its premises. It is believed that park visitors would have stolen them for some occult beliefs or supposedly divine/magical properties of those stones.
It seems people are still curious about the sailing stones. The people are not ready to hear these theories but love the mysterious part of the ‘sailing stones’ even after convincing theory and proof of concept that it is moved by nature anyway.
