Differences Between the Flu and Colds

Being sick is not fun at all.  You have to learn to take care of yourself. Remember that health is wealth that is why you should learn to take good care of your body. However, regardless of your effort to maintain your healthy body, there would always be time that you will get sick. The most common sickness you can experience is flu and cold. The flu and colds are likely to happen during cold season but, they can hit you anytime, anywhere and it is hard to identify the main difference between the two. A lot of people today do not really know the main difference between flu and cold and it is quite confusing and challenging to evaluate the two since they are quite similar to each other.

What are Colds and Flues?

Flu and colds are both viral infections that can attack your respiratory system. However, the influenza virus is the main cause of flu whereas rhino-virus is the one that causes a cold. Flu happens in unexpected situation and can come upon you quickly, while cold typically develops slowly. In general, flu may appear like a cold at the start which is a milder illness as compared to flu. And while the symptoms of a cold can make you feel quite bad and lousy for a few hours or even a couple of days, the symptoms of flu can make you feel really bad for many days to weeks. The after effects of the flu can affect your for even weeks.

To help you more in identifying if you have flu or cold, you should fully understand their main differences in terms of their main causes, signs, and symptoms.  You have to know which one you have in order to know what treatment is correct.
You should know that he common cold is an inflammation in the mucous membrane which is usually caused by 200 different types of viruses. If you are about to have a cold, you will start having a sore throat which usually happens on first day. After that, you will experience nasal problems, a runny nose, coughing, and congestion. During the first two days that you have symptoms of cold, it's better for you to stay home and get enough rest since you are already contagious. Cold viruses can spread easily through nose-blowing, nose-wiping, and sneezing. So basically, you can be affected by a cold if you are able to come in contact and inhale viruses from someone who is infected with a cold.
Some of the common symptoms of cold are nasal stuffiness, headaches, runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, nose and throat irritation, and muscles aches and pains. They can cause you to feel terrible but mostly these things are just uncomfortable and drain you physically.
If you experience these symptoms, you definitely have a cold and it will typically last for no more than a week. However, if your cold symptoms do not go away after a week and you still feel very weak, it would be advisable that you check with your doctor right away because you probably have developed sinusitis or other allergies.
On the other hand, flu, which is also known as influenza can cause a much serious effect on you as its symptoms are more severe as compared to a cold. It is a highly contagious disease that can infect you through touching contaminated areas such as tables, chairs door handles, utensils, door handles and the likes.  You can also catch the influenza virus by merely being around someone who has flu and keeps on coughing and sneezing.  The influenza virus is considered as an airborne virus and therefore, flu is contagious just by being in the presence of someone having the disease.
One common complication of the flu virus is pneumonia, which can be very risky for both young and adults especially those with heart and lung problems. Flu viruses usually start by entering your body through your eyes, nose, and mouth's mucous membrane. Again this is an airborne disease and since we rely on our breathing and touching things, we are more susceptible to the contagious virus.
Among the common symptoms of flu includes high fever, headache, sore throat, hoarse cough, and aching arm, legs, and back. If you experience the following symptoms of flu, you will feel very weak due to fever for the first 2 to 4 days and coughing and tiredness can last for more than a week.
Once you experience any of the signs and symptoms of flu and cold, it's very important that you take the right medicines to control them from spreading. And since both flu and cold have similar symptoms and it seems so hard to tell their differences based on signs and symptoms alone, it is best advisable that you visit your doctor as soon as possible so you'll know exactly if you have a flu or cold as well as you will be provided with the appropriate medications to take, and be further examined for other illnesses.

How to Treat the Flu and the Cold

The Center for Disease Control says you should get plenty of rest.  This will mean you should take off a couple of day from work or school.  You should not go around others for at least 24 hours after you stop having fever.  Fever is a sign you are contagious and your body is heating up to fight off the virus.
Get the rest you need. Your body needs to use all its energy to fight off this virus.  Stress can cause the virus to move and reproduce faster.  If you are resting, those resources can be used to fight off the virus.
If you have a cold or flu do not eat or drink after anyone.  Do not let anyone eat or drink after you either.  You need to disobey your parents on this one and do not learn to share, at least do not share this virus.
You should drink plenty of liquids.  This will help directly by fighting off the virus.  However, indirectly it will help you to keep from getting dehydrated, which is a common occurrence with having a cold.
To help relieve some of the congestion, you can take a hot shower or bath.  This will help you relax as well.  The steam will help relieve some of the congestion as well.  To also help with the congestion, you can get a humidifier and place it in the room you are staying in most of the time.
To help with the sore throat you can gargle with warm salt water.  You will most likely have muscle pain associated with the cold.  You can take aspirin or acetaminophen, or ibuprofen.  You can take over the counter medications with antihistamines in them to help combat the runny nose and irritated eyes.  Take cough suppressants to help with the coughing that you are having.  However, you do want to get that stuff broke up and coughing does help with theat.  If you are coughing and it is breaking the mucous up, you might want to go as long as you can.
You should always see a doctor if you condition gets worse or last for more than a week.  I am not a medical doctor and this article should not replace the great information you would get from a physician that knows you and your situation.

How The Mind Plays Games With the Body

The placebo effect is not the end of the story

The mind creates the concept of being either sick or well that is then physically manifested. We make a conscious decision about the input but some say this process can bypass the conscious mind. A chameleon does not decide what colour it is going to manifest. It is an automatic process and depends on the camouflage it needs. From there the somatic computer takes over and this is incapable of discrimination. Give it the instruction either way and all the systems will rally to produce the results. Tell yourself you are taking a drug (mind suggestion) and the body responds to the suggested effects (manifestation). We call this the placebo effect. But for the chameleon, there is another sub-routine that applies to us as well. When threatened, it turns dark, almost black regardless of the item it clings to. The brain is full of surprises.
An inactive substance or a specially formulated drug can produce the same physical effects as a drug. This depends on how well suggestions are presented on the label of the bottle or the literature that is used to create a mental platform. If no information is provided the effects of the placebo are absent. But side effects of blank placebos have been manifested when the patient is alerted to possible complications.
All this is mind mischief but the effects can be profound. Auto suggestion plays a significant role in medicine. So does a belief system. In 1986 the Kirsch studies involving a number of comparisons made between effects of antidepressant drugs and placebos showed that there was only a minimal difference of about 10%. This was even the case when two popular and very expensive antidepressant drugs plus an herbal alternative were compared to a placebo. St John's Wort (Hypericum), Prozac, Zoloft and the placebo only showed a minimal difference in efficacy. It seems that the depressed person takes the pill (a herb, a placebo or a drug) and regardless of the chemistry involved, the mind did the rest.
But that is not the end of the story because all drugs regardless of their origin can cause side effects even if nobody is not told about them. The funny thing is that when people alert the mind to possible problems they can also result in real complications - even with a placebo! With research about the benefits of certain herbs to help alleviate brain and nerve related disorders one has to be conservative.
On the one hand you need to tell the user of the beneficial effects of a substance but you do not want to put ideas into their heads. It is best to rely on observation and feedback. If it works, they will tell you and give you the details without any preconceived ideas. If something unpleasant happens you will know even sooner!this method is similar to the drug proving first used by Samuel Hahnemann in homeopathy.
Experience and observation work beyond the effects of a placebo
Homeopathic remedies are based on a system of observing the effects of a substance without any prior knowledge. The process is called drug proving. The observations of people who undergo a drug proving are studied to produce a symptom picture. For example, if onions make your eyes water then the onion can be used in a homeopathically potentised remedy to correct a problem with excessive tearing of the eyes. A bee sting produces itchiness, burning, swelling or a rash. This is a symptom picture of the effects of histamine, so a remedy is made from the bee venom to use as an alternative to an antihistamine drug and so on.
I have often unwittingly made similar observations and once discovered that after drinking a blend of herb tea my joints began to ache. Muscles felt painful, almost bruised. I felt stabbing pains in my neck and jaw. I checked the ingredients and sure enough, one of them was St John's Wort. I had not known this beforehand. In homeopathy we use a remedy made from this herb for similar aches and pains at a low potency of D 6. It does not contain the active substance, only an energy blueprint of it that works in reverse to the herb itself.  At a more diluted level it is used to ease a piercing, stabbing pain such as toothache or a crushed finger.
This may sound a bit mind-boggling but bear with me. St John's Wort in the herbal (gross) form alleviates depression they say. Side effects include stabbing pains and photosensitivity. In a potentised form it should do the reverse so does taking St John's Wort as a homeopathic remedy cause depression, yet treat aches and pains and photosensitivity?
St John's Wort (Hypericum) is said to work as a selective serotonin uptake inhibitor in its natural, unpotentised state. There is no mention of the side effects (drug proving) that include shooting pains and aching joints. But photosensitivity is often mentioned. Talk about a "selective information uptake overload"! It is hard to tell if the information is relayed by the mind or by simple feedback from areas of the body that experience the effects. The good news is that many people love St John's Wort because when they take it they don't feel depressed. There are no really harmful side effects as compared to patent drugs and it is a lot cheaper. Even the difference in cost will help to alleviate "financial depression".
The nocebo effect and how it sabotages health and wellbeing
A nocebo effect is the opposite of a placebo effect. They both use the same belief system in opposite ways. According to some studies the conscious mind does not even have to be involved but that is debatable. When the media explodes with a story about harmful effects of anything from wi-fi exposure to a virulent bug going round people will get ill and faithfully prove the harmful effects even if the information was a scam. Studies also show that people feel better protected by a vaccine against the flu that is more expensive and more difficult to get.
Some people will be given a remedy by a friend for their ailment. It may be exactly what they need to get better but they object to it coming from a friend, costing next to nothing and not being a formal drug that is prescribed by their doctor. The result is obvious. They will not get better and they will soon complain of headaches, cramps or whatever they can imagine in order to make their point. We were told as children to: "put on your jersey or you will get a cold!" Yet another example of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The big ugly lie about parabens - people believe it!
Most people are terrified of parabens in cosmetics. "Well informed" people complain about the use of methylparaben and propylparaben that are used to control microbial infections in herbal products. People prefer to use a product that does not contain any preservatives. This means that the product may be contaminated and unfit for use but it makes them happy. Big names in the cosmetic industry claim that these parabens are artificial harmful chemicals. They warn people that if the product cannot be put in the mouth they must not use it on the skin. They say that parabens are hormone disruptors and they cause cancer.
All of this is not true. Not one of these claims can stand up to well researched evidence to the contrary but as said before, the bigger the lie is, the more people will believe it. How about you? the truth is that mangoes and granadillas are full of these parabens! Parabens do not have a molecular structure that even resembles a steroid hormone with 4 carbon linked molecule. 90% of the parabens we find in the body are from food sources including green tea, vanilla and strawberries.
The joke is that we buy "organic" paraben-free cosmetics with these ingredients and feel good about spending the extra money. You may ask if the product contains the real green tea that contains parabens or have they conjured up fake paraben-free green tea and other immaculate "organic" conceptions! Then we foul-mouth people who use parabens as they occur in nature and make products that last for decades because they are not infected. But worrying about a product that contains parabens is probably what produces the nocebo effect.
They say it’s all in the mind but without a healthy clean brain it is impossible to think your way out of a perpetual fog.
Your mind can be influenced by information that is either true or false. It is the mind that offers the suggestion to the body to become ill or to be healthy. But if the mind is foggy in the first place then a dodgy blueprint will be channelled to the body to manifest. A confused mindset will send out conflicting instructions. People also make suggestions, claims and offer amazing cures and special diets. You are free to accept them or reject them. But they say that the bigger the lie is, the more people will believe it. We may add that if the lie has been told by an important doctor or professor then more people will fall for it and ont even question its validity.
Rather seek the truth and work things out for yourself. Eating like Professor Tim Noakes is a fine example of how carbo-loading can cause brain fog. He is also ignorant about all the other side effects of such an unhealthy protocol. Time and bitter experience caught up with him and all his followers were left to work out how to tell the mind the exact reverse of what he claimed. Dr Atkins shows how a meat and fat obsession to the detriment of carbohydrates can backfire and also result in ill-health.
Collective unconsciousness and universal beliefs can create diseases
In some countries menopause is a health problem and needs hormones and drugs to correct it. In primitive and remote areas women view it as temporary phase that leads to empowerment and a new lease of life. In Japan and China people consume vast quantities of MSG (monosodium glutamate) and do not have damaged neurons as a result of it. We are told by important doctors that is is a synthetic toxin. People panic and insist that all products should be free of MSG.
This became a joke because the body makes its own glutamate and it is an important neurotransmitter. The nerve damage that occurs is avoidable. It is due to excessive cortisol that interferes with its uptake in the brain. When garlic is eaten with MSG or at other meals it helps to protect neurons from oxidative damage. This neurotransmitter is certainly not a man-made toxin but people believe it is and then they get sick when they eat it. The highest levels of monosodium glutamate occur in soy sauce, tomatoes and parmesan cheese. Now labels have to declare: "No added MSG." What do you believe?
Mind over grey matter
The mind is not one of our physical components. It requires solid human hardware to interact with. The brain and nervous system depend on the mind and the thoughts and suggestions that it generates. Both need to be kept healthy and free of toxic, destructive elements: “A sound mind in a healthy body.” The brain and nervous system are vulnerable to environmental toxins, especially herbicides that can destroy nerve endings that are responsible for the uptake of dopamine. Even food, especially an inappropriate overload of carbohydrates can have a chaotic effect on our hormones and neurotransmitters. (Tim Noakes has finally discovered this!)
It is important to deal with matters of the mind at all levels. Stress makes one ill because of the way cortisone and other neurotransmitters that deal with emergency situations shift from a temporary surge to extended phases that can damage nerve endings and disrupt our internal network. Simple stress reducing techniques are very effective because they work at a more conscious level. A mind that is reassured and relaxed can influence the way our body chemistry behaves. This is what really changes the way hormones and neurotransmitters like acetylcholine, serotonin and dopamine behave.
How serotonin takes care of our wellbeing
But what if the neurotransmitter does not have enough time to engage on the designated receptor site? Let us look at a popular scenario. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps to control some rather unpleasant effects: anxiety, depression, rage, obsessive compulsive disorder and often an attempt at suicide. Yes, life is not worth living if serotonin is not engaging on a receptor and delivering those feel good, happy messages! Over time your sensitivity to pain increases and you can suffer from a lack of sleep and have constant cravings for sweet things. Although you may have enough serotonin floating around it may be that the receptors are not fully engaging with it.
Serotonin is made out of an amino acid called 5-hydroxy-tryptophan (5-HTP). The brain also needs it to produce melatonin, a hormone that controls our sleeping cycles. It also helps us to prevent some types of cancer. Good nutrition is required to make sure there is a steady stream of amino acids for the production of important hormones and especially our neurotransmitters. But if something interferes with the uptake of these messengers we still do not get any relief. Drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSR’s) are used to correct this problem. But they do nothing to address the real cause of the broken connection that may be damaged nerve endings.
Most of the drugs cause further complications that include tremors, sexual dysfunction and suicidal tendencies. This can lead to dependence on other medications to correct these side effects. Antipsychotic drugs are often prescribed but they can cause insulin resistance and long-term neurological damage. This gets us back to the original problem – if the nerve endings are damaged it is impossible to benefit from serotonin. Are there herbal alternatives? St John’s Wort (Hypericum) is a popular herbal remedy to use to improve the uptake of serotonin. It can increase photosensitivity in some people but it is a safer option.
A natural way to help neurotransmitters and hormones deliver their messages
There is another way to improve the performance of hormones and neurotransmitters on receptor sites and it offers a very elegant and non-habit forming solution. A second messenger is the nickname for a naturally occurring delivery system based on cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). We know that adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is a three-part energy bundle used to fuel up the cell’s power station called the mitochondria. It splits into three units of cAMP to activate the designated receptor sites of some of our major hormones. cAMP is one of the keys to controlling communication between the brain and its hormonal messengers.
Barry Sears the author of The Anti-Ageing Zone came up with an excellent protocol to increase and activate cAMP. It involves a strict low carbohydrate diet that keeps levels of insulin and cortisol under control. Large amounts of Omega 3 supplements complete the equation and cAMP becomes readily available. Forskholin is a phytochemical that activates adenylate cyclase - the enzyme that breaks down the ATP bundle to release the cAMP. Forskolin comes from the roots of Coleus Forskohlii. The action of the cAMP is prolonged in the presence of caffeine, justifying the addition of Chinese green tea to impart a longer life to your second messenger!

Forskolin from the herb Coleus Forskholii helps to treat: hypertension, mild congestive heart failure, asthma, eczema and psoriasis, digestive weakness, irritable bowel problems and weight gain. It is good for persistent urinary infections. Coleus also has anti-inflammatory properties and anti-histamine effects. Coleus helps to improve the effects of hormones like oestrogen and testosterone. It enhances thyroid activity and this speeds up a sluggish metabolism and helps to burn fat. It helps to alleviate insulin and leptin resistance. This in turn improves appetite control and reduce sugar cravings.
Our mind affects hormones and neurotransmitters
Neurotransmitters need to actively engage on their target receptors and stay there, until the message is delivered. It is important to maintain our levels of raw materials such as amino acids and to restore damaged nerves. Herbs can work miracles in this arena and are part of the tool kit we need to repair and maintain our central nervous system upon which the mind depends to express itself and carry out our scenarios. But it is the mind that is responsible for giving out the commands in the first place and it is up to us to base our beliefs on what is beneficial and not harmful.
If we believe a condition is incurable then we will have to live with it. How often are we told this, even by doctors? This is what the mind then tells the body and the hormones and neurotransmitters will orchestrate and even dramatize the effects of the so-called condition. They are merely carrying out what you believe even if it is not true.
This happens when patients are given a wrong diagnosis in a hospital. For example, a man who was awaiting the condemnation of a diagnosis of incurable cancer received an all-clear prognosis by mistake. He was jubilant and went home and never was affected by the worrying symptoms again. They went away. But his actual report was given to a healthy person by mistake who went into shock mode and died of cancer some time later. The hormones and neurotransmitters don’t control us; they react to the way we feel and think. A perceived danger is real to them and stress reactions take over even if there isn’t a real tiger in the room.

Always be mindful of health and happiness and it will manifest
All of us can take positive steps in order to feel better and not dwell on what is wrong. (It may not be but you can imagine the problem.) In other words, suggest to the body that there is a problem and that is what you will get. Resisting the problem will make it worse because what you resist will persist. Denial will not work either as it is based on resisting the problem.
No medical diagnosis, treatment or drug is needed to encompass a little effort and discipline in our lives. When you take positive steps to make a few changes and feel good about the things you encompass to help a condition you have already given yourself a positive dose of mind medicine. Feeling good and relaxed and delighting in the effects of what you plan to do is good for the body, the mind and the soul.
We are quite capable of manifesting a healthy happy body regardless of what it looks like in the mirror. The body is the mirror of the mind and that is where the biggest changes can be made. The mind is the mirror of your soul and your soul is connected to God-consciousness. So what do you see in your mirror?

Weight Loss

Losing weight is an extremely challenging thing to do, especially with the increasingly misleading and confusing information you seen through the news and internet. This article will attempt to simplify the process of weight loss and show you specific exercises that you can do to help you on your way to becoming healthier.
Introduction
First of all, the science behind weight loss is actually very simple. There aren't magic weight loss pills that will cause you to lose 100 lbs in a few months, and there isn't any magic machines you see on infomercials that are going to make you lose weight fast while not changing your lifestyle habits or eating habits.

Weight loss is a committment that you have to dedicate time and a lot of energy to. Weight loss comes down to one thing: you need to consume fewer calories than you spend in a day. That means that you must not only alter what you eat and how much you eat, but you also have to increase how many calories you are spending in a day.

Buying a gym membership costs money, which will often help motivate people to continue going to the gym, simply because they are paying for it. However, it is also possible to get a great workout at home using resistance bands or buying your own dumbbells.

Reasons to Lose Weight
There are an unfathomable number of benefits that exercise and weight loss have on the body. I could list off 100 benefits and not even scratch the surface of its benefits.

When looking to ose weight and start exercising, it is important to make an effective workout routine and to stick to it. Set both short-term and long-term goals for yourself that are realistic and attainable. But most importantly, when you are setting the goal of weight loss, your goal should be to be healthier overall and not to just try to look good.

Although a healthy person is more attractive to the opposite sex than an unhealthy person, exercise and weight loss will also greatly reduce and in most cases, eliminated your risk for chronic disease such as cardiovascular disease.

How to Do It
Now that you have decided to lose weight, its time to get started. It is important to understand that although cardio exercises are great at creating a calorie deficit that leads to weight loss, you must also engage in resistance training to help gain muscle mass that will make it easier to keep the weight off, as well as increase your quality of life. I have many articles about various streight building exercises that you can check out on my profile.

Cardio
Most gyms have many cardio machiens that you can make use of to start burning calories and get active.

The Elliptical

The elliptical is a great machine for losing weight and burning calories, and will ease the impact on your joints compared to jogging.

The Row Machine

The row machine is another great machine that is used to burn calories. It requires force production from basically every muscle in the body and is great for toning the whole body.

SwimmingSwimming is an incredibly exhausting exercise that will give you amazing results in the calorie burning department. It requires the use of every joint and every muscle in the body to propel yourself through the water, meaning that it will incinerate calories.

Conclusion
Remember to check out my profile for various routines and explanation of resistance training exercises and be sure to incorporate them into your exercise routine for maximum fat loss results, plus the ability  to keep the weight off.

Hopefully this article has given you an idea about how to go about weight loss, and hopefully it motivated you a little to get out there and get active.

7 Dangerous acts after a meal

7 Dangerous acts after a meal~
1. Don’t smoke —- Experiments from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of cancer is higher)

2. Don’t eat fruits immediately — Immediately eating fruits after meals will cause stomach to be bloated with air. Thre fore take fruits 1 -2 hours after meal or 1 hour before meal.

3. Don’t drink tea—— Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the protein content in the food we consume to be hundred thus difficult to digest.

4. Don’t loosen your belt———- Loosening the belt after meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted and blocked.

5. Don’t bathe———- ——- Bathing after meal will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs and body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease, this will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.

6. Don’t walk about———- — People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake.

7. Don’t sleep immediately—- ——– The food we intake will not be to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric and infection in our intestine.

The Health Benefits Of Chocolate

Everyone knows too much chocolate is bad for you, but not everyone knows that just a little bit of chocolate has good health benefits. However, not all chocolates are equal. Dark chocolate or cacao beans give the best health benefits where milk chocolate has less. Milk chocolate is chocolate combined with milk and sometimes things like sugar and vanilla to create a sweeter and creamier sort of taste. This makes it less pure than dark chocolate and also fattier thus worse for you.

Eat Chocolate for a Better Metabolism

Shocked that chocolate can help improve metabolism? A 2009 study published in the Journal of Proteome Research showed a comparison of the metabolism of people who ate 40 grams of dark chocolate over two weeks compared to those that did not. They found that there was a considerable metabolism increase in those that ate this tasty dessert treat. They believe that chocolate helps drop the levels of stress-related hormones that slow the metabolism and decrease fat burning.Related to this, it is found to help people feel fuller. This is why many campers and hikers carry a bar of chocolate. It is good to give you a fast energy boost, but if you should happen to become lost, it will help stave off hunger pangs. This is because dark chocolate is actually rich in fiber which helps fill the stomach. When dieting, try taking a bite of dark chocolate next time before over snacking.

Chocolate is Good for Your Skin

Anyone that has ever had an acne problem know that chocolate is responsible for breakouts. This may be true for milk chocolate, but the dark variety is actually good for your skin. Dark chocolate is rich in an antioxidant called flavanols. Flavanols help protect your skin from UV light damage. Thus helping prevent skin cancer. However, eating this sweet treat does not mean you can throw away your sunscreen.

Chocolate Can Help Coughs

Chocolate being used for coughs is kind of odd, however I know personally that it does work. This tasty treat contains an alkaloid called theobromine, which is a stimulant similar to caffeine. Theobromine is also what makes chocolate poisonous to dogs, but it metabolizes slowly in dogs, but humans have a very high tolerance for it.
This alkaloid helps the calm the vagus nerve in the brain which trigger coughing. Because of this, companies are investigating replacing codeine—which can have adverse side effects—with theobromine in cough syrups as a more natural remedy.

Chocolate is Good for the Heart

Theobromine is not only good for coughs, but it is good for your heart in small doses. Like other stimulants, it increases heart rate, and widens blood vessels. Research also suggests that chocolate has chemical properties that inhibits platelet function in the blood making it a blood thinner. This would be dangerous in large doses, but unless you plan on eating a whole car made out of the stuff, it helps lower blood pressure and clotting. Because it acts as an anti-clotting blood thinner, it can help prevent strokes. A 2011 Swedish study found that those who ate around 40 grams of chocolate per week had their chances of a stroke lowered by at least 25%. It has also been noted that the flavanols in this sweet treat can help repair blood vessel damage caused by smoking. So after quiting, help your body repair itself with a little bit of sweetness.

Fight Depression with Chocolate

Why do people reach for chocolate after a break up or when they are sad? Because it helps. It really helps. It helps stimulate endorphin production which is what makes us feel good. I have heard that having a piece of chocolate melt in your mouth makes a person as happy as passionate kissing, though this is unconfirmed. However, there is no denying the feeling you get when eating chocolate. You have to be really determined to be depressed when eating chocolate to negate the effects. This is why people are skeptical of the fact that chocolate makes people happy chemically. when you really do not want something to work, it will not. Though consequently, when you want it to work, it probably will.

Health Disadvantages of Chocolate

You cannot mention the health benefits of chocolate without mention the disadvantages. If you only mention the good, people will indulge themselves more than they should.
While dark chocolate is the best kind to eat to get the health benefits, all chocolate—white, dark, milk, ect—has a fairly high fat content. 3 ounces of this stuff contains anywhere from 21 to 41 grams of fat in it and 300 to 450 calories. While you can eat an ounce of this stuff to get the health benefits and be alright with calories and fat content, people have a hard time containing themselves. This food has always been one of those food that people cannot help but overindulge themselves. This throws the health benefits out the window and leads to weight gain and all the negatives that come with that.
Like with fat content, chocolate also contains a high sugar content. Though dark chocolate has the lowest sugar content, eating 2 ounces of it will put you over the recommended sugar intake you should have daily. Like fat content, this can lead to weight gain, but also increases tooth decay. You know what they say, sugar rots your teeth. That old adage continues to be true. Though interestingly enough, theobromine is believed to help kill some bacteria in the mouth that causes tooth decay. Eating too many sweet treats cancels out the effect with sugar.
Chocolate naturally contains caffeine as well. A surprisingly large amount of natural caffeine is found in this sweet. Because the dark variety is the purest, it has the highest amount of caffeine with 30 mg per a 1.45 ounce serving. The recommended daily caffeine consumption is only 45 mgs so a 1.45 ounce of dark chocolate puts you really close to that limit. Exceeding this limit can lead to head aches, sleep problems, and anxiety. The caffeine content is not something people consider when eating this sweet treat but they should before they overindulge.

How we can clean stain which is made Cigarette .

How we can clean stain which is made Cigarette

Smoking aside from running rampant with your health also stains everything. Nicotine itself is an lf is an oily liquid that seeps into our skin in its purest form. When it is released in cigarette smoke, nicotine is released with tar from the tobacco. The tar combined with the nicotine in cigarette smoke will stain finger, teeth, walls, and any other porous surface. These stains are not noticed immediately, but one day every smoker wakes up and notices their index and middle finger of their smoking hand have yellowed at the tip.
Other than the obvious way to prevent these stains, which is to stop smoking, smokers can help prevent them by washing their hands as much as possible. however, once the stains set in they only get harder to get rid of.There are a lot of different products that boast the ability to remove stains from skin. They use harsh chemicals that dry your skin and crack your nails don't always leave you with the desired stain-free amount of skin.

As weird as it may seem, cut a potato in half and rub it on the stained areas of your skin. Potatoes are a strange little vegetable. Since they contain large amounts of water, they can soak up many. They can get excess salt out of food and rubbing the juice on your skin and letting it set for 30 minutes can draw out stains. As the potato juice evaporates, it brings the nicotine stain out with it.
Lemon
Similar to a potato, lemon juice can also be used to remove stains naturally. Rub the lemon on the stains and let sit for about 10 minutes. The lemon juice penetrates deeply and draws out the tar stains, however like many chemical produces it does not over dry the skin.
Aspirin
Dissolve a caplet of aspirin into a cup of hot water and soak your fingers in for about 15 minutes and it should help to lift the stain. one of aspirin's main ingredients, salicylic acid, helps lift the stain from your skin naturally. This method can also be done by creating a paste from aspirin and water for tougher stains. Aspirin solution will also help remove tobacco stains from clothing and walls.
Pumice Stone
For the tougher stains from years and years of smoking and ignoring the tar stains, you can gently massage the affected areas before and are with a pumice stone to scrub the stains from the skin. If you have to use the pumice stone after, I recommend repeating whichever treatment you were using for better results. Some have tried to remove stains by just scrubbing them off with a pumice stone, however this will leave your skin sore if done too vigorously and can result in calluses. Though the pumice stone will be useful if you, like me, had tobacco stains in already formed calluses.
Bleach
People treat bleach like it is sulfuric acid. If bleach accidentally gets on your skin, it is not going to burn your to the bone straight away. Bleach is a helpful tool in removing tobacco stains from fingers. Undiluted pure bleach will cause chemical burns, so it is best to liberally dilute it before soaking your fingers. Add a capful of bleach to approximately two cups of water and let your fingers soak for five minutes.
Be sure to wash hands thoroughly after soaking to remove any excess bleach and bleach smell. Using bleach is one method that can dry your hands out, so If that is something that will bother you, but sure to apply lotion.

Treating Nicotine Stains on Teeth
Removing nicotine stains from teeth is a lot like removing any other discolorations that life presents your teeth. The best advice to keeping a white smile while still smoking it to smoke before brushing your teeth and try to wait at least an hour after brushing. If you brush your teeth daily, nicotine stains should keep themselves at bay.
Overnight products
Many heavy smokers are absolutely manic about smoking. They'll smoke before brushing their teeth and immediately after. Doing this really makes brushing your teeth to keep them white a moot point. To combat this, invest in an overnight whitening product. This will help counteract heavy smoking as you cannot smoke while you are sleeping.
Baking Soda and Peroxide
If you find yourself needing to do some spot treatment on some stains, baking soda and peroxide is the poor man's stain remover. A lot of stain removing products are essentially just baking soda and peroxide, so why spend the extra money? Mix the two together to form a thick paste and brush it on the stained areas of the teeth. You can also use this mixture to replace your usual toothpaste. You will not get that minty breath, but it will strongly help remove the stains on your teeth each day and keep new ones from forming.
I do have a warning for this method though, many people's mouths are excessively sensitive to peroxide so if the mixture burns, you will have to try another method. Once in awhile is alright if it burns your mouth, but daily use will be excruciating.
Oral Hygiene
Like I previously said, what it all comes down to is good oral hygiene to treat and prevent tobacco stains on teeth. If tobacco has already taken its toll and you want to change it, today is a good day to start. use a whitening toothpaste daily and it will help fight stain build up. This also encompasses yearly visits to the dentist for teeth cleaning. If you are a smoker or have recently quit and want to get your smile whiter, start with a solid teeth cleaning at the dentist. That should help treat some of the deeper stains.
After the initial teeth cleaning, brush and even floss daily and use a whitening product, be it whitening strips or the baking soda and peroxide mixture, one a week at least. I found that after a about two months, my nicotine stains were gone and my teeth were whiter than they were when I was a child.

The Talking Monster

The Talking Monster

Alarm rings; you wake up. Your feet shuffle across to the bathroom, and you flip on the lightswitch, bracing for bright light. Your hands settle on the bathroom counter, and you look into the mirror. Like a yawning cave, you part your lips to reveal the horror inside. The appendage that was once bald and pink as a newborn pig has now turned into a black bear - a hairy tongue, blacker than the day before. You can't understand it.
Black Tongue Origins
Physical conditions and diseases usually have a long, complicated Latin name to describe them, but in this case, medical doctors either call it black tongue or black hairy tongue. Humans have dealt with this condition as long as we've known; there's no particular historic point. Although many animals have a black (or gray) tongue, the color is permanent rather than temporary, as it normally is in humans. Cows, giraffes, and even some dogs possess a black-colored tongue.
Symptoms of Black Hairy Tongue

The name gives most of the symptoms away, but as with most conditions, there are variances and additional manifestations that can sometimes appear. Although most people's tongues appear black with this condition, they may also appear green, yellow or brown. The growths of "hair" on the tongue stem from filiform papillae, one of four types of prominences on the tongue used to provide a coating and cleaning on the tongue's surface[3]. Human hair, on the other hand,  is a much different material made of keratin, a type of protein[1]. The filiform papillae can lengthen to 15 times their regular size, creating enough fur to deter even the most avid french-kissers[2].
Other symptoms of black tongue are more rare, but they appear more regularly if you don't "nip them in the bud." All are contained within the mouth and throat area[2].
Tongue burning, agitation (glossopyrosis)
Metallic taste
Nausea
Bad breath
Gagging
Tickling in the back of the throat
Primary Causes of Black Tongue
Much like a showoff at school who can temporarily dislocate his shoulder, a hairy tongue exhibits flashy appearances without serious ramifications. In the vast majority of cases, victims of this condition do not brush their teeth, gums and tongue on a regular basis. Besides shoddy oral hygiene habits, products like cigarettes, chewing tobacco, coffee and tea can stain teeth and all parts of the mouth. Other causes of black hairy tongue include a few surprises:
Medications like Pepto Bismul including the chemical bismuth in their list of ingredients
Various types of antibiotics inhibiting or encouraging the growth of oral bacteria
Mouthwash which includes ingredients such as witch hazel, menthol or peroxide
Dehydration
Lack of saliva
Radiation from the upper chest to the top of the head
Remember: Black tongue in itself is not serious, but the bad habits that normally cause this condition can lead to tooth decay, gum disease and spread to other parts of the body. Complications can continue to worsen without proper maintenance of the tongue and mouth. Target your unhealthy habits, not the condition - the condition will clear up once you have started to live a healthier lifestyle.
Tame the Monster: Black Tongue Treatment
Improving oral hygiene habits normally clears up black hairy tongue, but it may take some time depending on how long you have had the condition, the amount of bacteria residing in your mouth and other factors. Begin with a soft toothbrush and toothpaste. Start scrubbing the tongue and clean off as much residue as possible without leaving it raw. Work your way around all of your teeth, cleaning every part of your mouth. Use mouthwash that does not contain any of the ingredients mentioned in the "causes" section.
Be thorough. If you have an ant problem in your home, you don't spray a single room. You take your canisters into every room, laying waste to every ant that thought they were a guest in your house. Same principle applies to your oral hygiene habits. From this day forth, you are Mr. Clean.
Think about the types of medications and products you put into your mouth each day. If any of those match the elements listed under "causes," them stop your intake immediately (easier said than done, right?)[2]. Drink plenty of water to keep your mouth from getting too dry and allowing bacteria to grow in large quantities.
Eat healthy food that keeps you chewing, crunching, and tearing before swallowing it. That tongue needs food that can clean it. If you're consistently practicing all of these newfound habits with little to no results for a month or two, then take the final steps to clean the hair and color off of your tongue.
Final Measures in Black Hairy Tongue Treatment
If you kept up great oral hygiene without results, than unfortunately your mom's method of cleaning out your mouth after letting expletives fly won't do the trick. It is time to see the doctor to receive either:
Oral prescription drugs such as antifungal or antibiotic medication
Electrosurgery or laser surgery on the elongated papillae of the tongue
The chances of needing to take these "final measures" are slim and only recommended if you have changed your oral habits for the better. Black tongue has the appearance of something sinister, but it's usually only the outward symbol of an internal problem: Bad oral hygiene. Keep your closet (mouth) clean so that this monster never has a place to hide ever again.

Why Does My Cat Pee So Much?Is it diabetes?

Is it diabetes?
One of the main symptoms of diabetes in humans and cats is thirst, they need to drink and  because they need to drink they pee, so if your cat is peeing more than usual it is   worth considering taking them to the veterinarian surgeon to check if they  have feline diabetes. If they are really desperate for a drink they will drink anything, even trying to catch the drips from your bath taps.

Diabetes or feline diabetes mellitus occurs when the cat’s body does not produce insulin in sufficient quantities to keep the blood sugar levels in balance. The disease is just the same as the human condition and needs treatment often with diet or insulin therapy which is the same treatment as humans receive.

Testing and treatment for diabetic cats
If your veterinarian suspects that your cat has developed diabetes he will take a blood sample.

This sample will show the level of your cats sugar , depending on the result he may ask you to feed your cat differently and then come back to see if the food has lowered your pets blood sugar levels.

I think most owners will worry when  the veterinarian tells them  their cat has diabetes. You will need to develop a good, trusting relationship with your veterinarian , who will probably suggest that she follows a low carbohydrate diet. ( That would probably be quite popular with a meat-eating cat!). Try to avoid the dried foods as they usually contain a large amount of carbohydrates. There are several types of cat foods specifically made for diabetic cats or you can also feed chicken and fish. Regular visits to the veterinarian become part of the routine to check the cat’s blood sugar levels and he will prescribe proper levels of insulin for the cat. The best way to give insulin is by injection, so the veterinarian will teach you how to give your cat her shot. It can  easier to give the cat her shot at home as she  could be  more confident with you as she is more familiar with your voice and her surroundings. If your cat is pliable you can  take blood tests at home as only a small sample, a drop of blood is used . The blood sugar level is usually measured by using a blood glucose monitor , these are not especially made for cats but it is possible to use a human one.

Other symptoms of feline diabetes
Is your cat overweight?
It is a fact that many of our pet cats are overweight. Weighing

a cat to record its body weight is almost always done when you take your cat for its yearly injections and any increase is usually accompanied with a stern reprimand from the veterinarian. Increased availability of cat food and its relative cheapness means that many of us are feeding our cats too much and like humans it is the overweight cat who has a higher risk of developing diabetes Cats like to eat and if faced with extra special treats they are hardly likely to think of their waist lines!

Sometimes the symptoms of diabetes manifest themselves as the  loss of their appetite followed by weight loss and sometimes accompanied by vomiting and maybe  very dry skin. At the same time other cats may find themselves really hungry and eat and eat as the high level of sugar in their blood means that they are unable to metabolize the nutrients included in their food It is really hard for the cat owner to distinguish between the hungry cat and the cat who is hungry because they are ill. If you cat's eating pattern changes radically then it is really important to let the veterinarian know this on your next visit. Sometimes cats can become diabetic when they are pregnant and the veterinarian will keep a careful watch on her, as the kittens could end up being very big. Like many human mothers this gestational diabetes often disappears after the birth.

Hypoglycemic attacks
Like humans cats can suffer from low blood sugar

and have a hypoglycemic attack, my dad used to call them hypo. It is when for some reason the blood sugar has dropped really low. This is a serious condition with symptoms of lethargy and coldness which can lead to a coma or death. A woman in our area died a few weeks ago of a hypo, so it is important to treat your cat immediately if you suspect this. There are some sugar gels available in good drug stores and if you suspect a hypo careful rub a small drop of gel into the cat's mouth so that she has to suck it, this will need to be repeated until she comes round. Next, give her something to eat and then call the vet, chances are that he will wish to see her to check her blood sugar levels and adjust her insulin. Above all don’t panic as this is treatable with a calm response, just deadly if you don’t treat it.

Diabetic cats need extra care but can have a happy, full and enjoyable life.

4 Foods That Prevent Acne

Whilst acne is a condition which is commonly associated with teenagers, it can appear at any stage of our lives and unfortunately it frequently does. Contrary to popular belief, acne isn't caused by having dirty skin or not cleansing your face enough – acne sufferers probably clean their face more often than the lucky people who don’t have to put up with this awful condition. Instead, acne and blackheads are often caused by other factors such as hormones, stress, amount of sleep and even what you eat.

This article discusses the last factor – what you eat – and talks about some food items that may help prevent acne. It is worth bearing in mind that simply eating these foods will not completely eliminate the darn spots, but if you are not already eating a healthy diet, including foods that fight acne in your meals should greatly help in preventing acne from developing. Without further ado, let's jump in to the 10 foods that prevent acne.

#1 Fatty fish for clear skin
No, I am not referring to a fish that eats too much. Fatty fish or oily fish are fish such as salmon, sardines, anchovies, and mackerel that contain high amounts of beneficial omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are known for reducing inflammation and research suggests that it may help with acne and other skin conditions.

When I learnt about the benefits of having oily fish in my diet, I could not help but wonder if that’s the reason Japanese women have such beautiful skin. The Japanese have a diet that contains plenty of seafood and fish (think sashimi and sushi) and that might be why you hardly see any Japanese women with an acne problem.

#2 Oysters and shellfish to prevent acne
Oysters and shellfish contain large amounts of the trace mineral zinc. Zinc is an important trace mineral required by the human body. There is some evidence to suggest that a lack of zinc may play a part in causing acne. Eating just six medium-sized oysters a day can allow you to meet the daily requirement for zinc. Not only that, oysters and shellfish are also another source of omega-3 fatty acids so they are definitely good additions to a diet to for acne prevention.

#3 Sesame seeds for better skin
Besides oysters and shellfish, seasame seeds are also a good source of zinc. You can easily sprinkle sesame seeds on almost any other food. Smoothies, salads, and even main dishes can all have a little sesame added to it without affecting its flavor (or even enhancing it!) It is so easy to include this acne preventing food in your diet there's no reason not to do it.

Of course, this doesn't give you an excuse to chomp on a burger because there are sesame seeds on it.

#4 Yogurt for a glowing complexion
Yogurt is a fermented dairy product that contains plenty of probiotics or good bacteria. Although dairy has been linked to acne, fermented dairy products do not cause acne like their non-fermented counterparts. Yogurt and other fermented food such as kefir are a good source of probiotics which can improve gut health and consequently help fight against acne.

It is important, however, to get yogurt that contains live cultures. Some manufacturers produce yogurt that is pasteurized, meaning they heat it up to a high temperature, killing all the bacteria (good or bad) in it. These pasteurized yogurt do not contain the beneficial bacteria that can help with acne.

You will also want unsweetened yogurt, preferably plain ones because fruit yogurts usually come with a lot of added sugar.

Besides eating the yogurt, you could also apply it as a cream to your face. Although it sounds like an untested home remedy for acne, applying yogurt to your face may actually be a scientifically sound method of acne prevention. Although yogurt itself was not used, applying a type of bacteria found in yogurts as a cream for seven days has been suggested by researchers to be useful for acne.

Now, don't go buying skin care products that claim to have yogurt in them -- the bacteria in such products are probably dead and useless. Using a home-made yogurt mask might be effective though.

Yogurt is one of the best foods to prevent acne. Eating it with lots of fresh fruit like in the photo above would be even better. Yogurt can also be used as a home-made facial mask.

Easy and Healthy Snack Ideas

When our family first began this journey to allergy free eating, I frequently found myself at a loss when it came to quick and easy snacks. I committed myself to following the same dietary restrictions as my daughter Amy and there were some days where I just seemed to be starving because I couldn’t think of anything easy to eat and I had fed the last of the leftovers to Amy. It seemed like everything we could eat required so much preparation and there wasn’t a single packaged food we could turn to.

We were already more or less into “clean eating” so giving up packaged foods wasn’t really that hard to deal with. The biggest challenge was probably giving up dairy and eggs. Not that we were big milk drinkers but we did eat a lot of yogurt and some cheese. Yogurt was quick, easy and filling and cheese and eggs were quick and easy protein alternatives. One of the things that I do on a regular basis is to cook double what I need for dinner so that we have left-overs to eat for breakfast or lunch the next day.

Over time, we’ve come up with a few favorite snacks. Some of them are free of all the major allergens while others are not. You can choose to try the ones that suit you.

Veggies and hummus (I make a yummy hummus with butter beans instead of chickpeas. This makes a much creamier dip).
Non-wheat toast spread with a good quality honey, topped with thinly sliced apples and sprinkled with cinnamon
Rice cakes spread with almond butter and thinly sliced apples
Any of the breads, muffins, biscuits or scones featured in The Healthy Gluten Free Life by Tammy Credicott

Smoothies made with frozen fruit chunks and coconut milk. Try freezing them in popsicles molds for a delicious summer treat.
Left-over chicken drumsticks
Oven-baked yam fries (buy them precut in the fresh produce section or buy frozen, organic yam fries).
Lentil chips served with salsa, guacamole or bean dip
Seaweed snacks – just be sure that they aren’t loaded with oil and salt.
Pumpkin seeds
Canned tuna or salmon mixed with diced onions and apples
Allergen free cereal topped with coconut milk
Handful of almonds or cashews
Diced apples added to plain, organic yogurt, sprinkled with cinnamon
Raw cashew butter spread on celery sticks
Sulfite free dried fruit
Single-serving organic apple sauce or other fruit snacks
The important thing is to come up with some easy snack ideas before you are hungry. Once you are starving you won’t be able to think of those healthy snacks and you’ll be more likely to reach for processed, chemical laden, allergy causing foods.

Swimming

Swimming is an incredibly exhausting exercise that will give you amazing results in the calorie burning department.

10 Best Foods for You (What You Should Be Eating)

What Makes a Food One of the "Best Foods for You"?

For a food to be considered healthy, it must contain some type of mineral, chemical, vitamin or molecule that helps protect and rebuild the cells in the body. There are a huge number of these compounds, but the following pack the most punch.

Fiber

Fiber is the "bulk" material found in plant matter. It is an indigestible carbohydrate that serves a critical function in the body. As it travels through the intestines, the fiber absorbs fat, cholesterol and toxins from the body. Fiber is also necessary to regulate the intestines. It has been shown that diet high in fiber will reduce sickness by properly (and quickly) flushing toxins from the body.

Fiber is arguably the most important part of your diet. It will help flush toxins out of your body and bolster your immune system.
Unsaturated Fats
These "good fats" have the ability to counteract the effects of "bad fats." They can help reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, help alleviate joint aches and pains and can help fight memory loss and dementia.
AntioxidantsAntioxidants are a molecule that prevents other molecules from oxidizing. When oxidation occurs within a cell, it can severely damage important structures like DNA. This reaction can also lead to the formation of cancer.

Vitamins and Minerals

Our bodies need a constant supply of vitamins and minerals to properly function. These compounds are used for a variety of functions throughout the body such as the conversion of food to energy or the reparation of bones. Foods containing a wide range of vitamins and minerals are regarded as extremely important for healthy living.

Probiotic Bacteria

This helpful bacteria resides within the colon and plays an important part in the digestive process. They help prevent the formation of pathogens and toxins and keep the colon regulated. Evidence has also shown that it can help reduce cholesterol. In particular people with digestive issues (IBS and colitis) will benefit the most from probiotic sources.

The Swiss Healthcare System - How Does Health Insurance In Switzerland Work?

Health Insurance In Switzerland

In Switzerland, everyone has health insurance. The health outcomes are excellent, the cost is reasonable and patients are highly satisfied. How does this work? Why is Switzerland renowned for its healthcare system?

Insurance Companies
Health insurance is purchased directly from insurance companies such as «Aquilana» or «CSS», businesses do not act as a middleman like they do in the US. Therefore customers keep their coverage when they change or lose their job.

Regulation

These insurance companies are regulated by the government, which enforces price controls. Insurance companies are required to accept anyone, therefore they cannot deny coverage to individuals with pre-existing conditions.

Premiums

The premiums are negotiated between insurance companies and medical providers, approved by the canton (state) government and are then paid for by the citizens themselves. The basic insurance plan, defined by the government, are compulsory, meaning everyone in Switzerland has to be insured or face high fines. Within three months of entering the country (or birth) a person must sign up with a insurance company. Providers are forbidden to profit from these plans, instead they make money off supplemental coverage such as dentistry, alternative medicine, transport and glasses. Companies compete with high and low deductibles and supplemental benefits.

Premiums are not affected by health, age or income, meaning that an old, sick, millionaire pays the same monthly amount as a young, healthy middle-class citizen. However the costs for low-income citizens are subsidized by the government. In Switzerland, healthcare makes up 10.8% of the GDP, rather high compared to other countries.

Benefits

Swiss patients don’t have long wait times and they have free choice of doctor inside their canton (state). Switzerland is well-known for its quality medical and paramedical services. They have one of the lowest patient-doctor ratios worldwide. Additionally, pharmacists are highly qualified and are therefore often consulted before an individual visits the doctor.

Cost

Compared to the US, the costs are a lot lower. In 2007, the health insurance cost per capita in Switzerland were around $4,500, while in the US they were almost twice that, amounting to $7,500! In 2010, an adult (26+) pays Fr. 351 per month, a young adult (19-25) Fr. 293 and a child (0-18) Fr. 84.

Approval

Surprisingly, both liberals and conservatives like their health care system. The liberals because it guarantees universal coverage and the conservatives since it doesn’t put a burden on businesses.

Personal Experiences

I can personally attest for the high quality for the Swiss Healthcare System. Last year I was diagnosed with a IBD, an inflammatory bowel disease, and had to shortly thereafter enter professional medical care at the University Hospital in Zurich (one of the best medical institutions worldwide). In short, I spent over three weeks there, and had to be transported with an ambulance once. The care was fantastic, and I am currently in remission. The medical costs were over $30,000! How much did I pay? Only 10%, which amounted to $3,000.
